About five weeks ago I heard about a twenty-two-year-old woman named Rachael who is manic depressive and who is also addicted to alcohol and drugs. I remember hearing that in such situations, an individual needs to get treatment for both medical conditions and that mental health difficulties and dependency frequently occur in the same individual. Furthermore, I recall reading that a history of hazardous drinking, drug addiction, and/or mental health issues routinely occur in the same family. P
