Alcohol Addiction and Information

Nowadays, drinking alcohol has been very rampant. Different groups of people are always seen drinking that drinking for anyone will never be a big issue. Across culture, state and economic status significant number of people drinks liquor. All of them might have different reasons in doing so. There is a possibility that alcohol is just use to socialize and mingle with friends. Others find liquor as there last resort when they are trapped in a middle of problematic situation and chaotic environment. Despite its undeniable presence in almost every society, there are people who finds it hard to get away from drinking alcohol. This can then result to alcohol addiction. Anyone can be addicted to alcoholic drinks under the right amount they are taking in everyday and the gratification of continuing the said act even if it is of no use already. There are a lot of studies already that was been conducted in relation to drinking intoxicating drinks and researchers have found different reasons for people’s enthusiasm and curiosity on alcoholic drinks.

Ethanol or ethyl alcohol is a sedative-hypnotic drug that acts on the human brain like other sedative-hypnotic drugs such as the barbiturates and benzodiazepine tranquilizers. It was found out that all of these drugs can alternate for one another and avoid withdrawal symptoms from each other. Studies have shown that benzodiazepine tranquilizers are commonly used temporarily to treat severe alcohol withdrawal. Addiction is defined as a complex behavioral syndrome that includes abnormal importance of the drug or activity; use of the drug or activity to an extreme and often harmful extent; constant use or activity despite negative consequences; psychological defenses of denial, rationalization, minimization and projection of blame; and personality changes and life disruption as a consequence of use or activity. To summarize, alcohol addiction is defined as a necessity for an intoxicating liquid. Fermented grains and fruit is where one can obtain this kind of liquid. Common examples of intoxicating liquid include beer, wine and other hard liquors. Despite the absence of necessity for one to drink but still he or she drinks vast quantities of alcohol, alcohol addiction is said to be present. If they are asked to stop drinking alcoholic drinks, they show signs of withdrawal. Some of the withdrawal symptoms which they might experience are nausea, sweating, shakiness and anxiety.

Genes as a cause of alcohol addiction has been found out from numerous research being carried out. It is always a matter of choice when one starts to drink alcoholic beverages. It can also develop or worsen based on a person’s environment and some traumatic experiences in life. These factors may include culture, family, friends, peer pressures and the way the person lives.

Drinking alcoholic drinks could lead to different result. Alcoholic drinkers find drinking as a relief for depression. Through drinking people can find confidence on expressing their wants and needs. Also, it can help some people to sleep earlier especially those who are suffering insomnia and others find liquor as their weapon to forget hurtful or painful events that had happened on their lives. Yet, addiction to alcoholic drinks may lead people into different troubles. Work, career, and family life can be negatively affected because of this bad habit. It can also lead individuals’ to a way of thinking that could result to wrong judgments. At present, studies show that people who are under the influence of alcohol use is involved in half of all crimes, murders, suicides and accidental deaths. More than that, brain damage, cancer, heart disease and diseases of the liver can also result from alcohol addiction. These all have negative consequences to society that would be very dangerous to others as well.

Alcohol addiction is of an undeniable presence in almost every society that people have a hard time getting out from it. Alcohol addiction is said to be present when a person find it a need to drink alcohol even if there is no need for him or her to drink such amounts.
